Family Program

The KIDS! program at viennacontemporary offers children playful access to contemporary art. KIDS! encourages young visitors from the age of 4 to freely unfold their fantasy and creativity. In 2019, viennacontemporary collaborates with three Viennese art institutions, which will present their own special education programs for children.

Kunsthalle Wien | I Make the World…

A workshop for children aged 5 and older by Kunsthalle Wien

As part of the exhibition at Kunsthalle Wien, the artists Liam Gillick and Gelatin have built a huge movie set and shot a feature film. Inspired by this cool action and the actors of the film, we will create hand puppets out of different materials, fancy fabrics, and colors, and bring them to life. The characters can come from your favorite movie, they can be artists, superheroes, wild animals, or your best friends. We are curious about what your characters will tell us and what their stories will be!

Step into the imaginative world of artists!
At the Künstlerhaus satellite at viennacontemporary we invite young visitors to join the Association of Austrian Artists for one day and unleash their potential as designers, painters, architects, mixed media artists, or conceptual artists. Creative tasks for 10, 20 or 30 minutes are awaiting them: e.g. storyboards, flipbooks, textile bags. The kids can drop in any time and create as many artworks as they like.
