VCT STATEMENT TALK: Nexus Thinking

In the context of VCT STATEMENT, two panel discussions take place at the fair in cooperation with ERSTE Foundation under the umbrella title Nexus Thinking – Energy, Future, Sustainability. The panel discussions bring the voices of those who are leading the way in the fight against climate change and the responsible use of resources to the fore.

VCT STATEMENT encourages critical conversations and inspires action for a more sustainable society. It amplifies the voices of those at the forefront of the fight against global warming and presents valuable artistic perspectives on the pressing issues of our time.

Previous STATEMENT panel participants have included the likes of Oleksandr Tkachenko (Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine), Alma Zadić (Austrian Minister of Justice), Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal (Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and Martin Selmayr (Head of Representation of the European Commission in Austria) in dialogue with leading personalities from arts, economy, and science. The line-up of this year’s panel is to be announced later this year.

VCT STATEMENT was launched in 2022 with VCT STATEMENT UKRAINE as a reaction to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine in order to contribute to raising awareness of socio-political realities as an art fair. Since its initiation, the special program has developed into an important and popular platform for linking art and pressing socio-political issues.
